About me.

My name is Peter Park and I’m in my 60’s, I’ve been running my own company, along with a business partner, for about 22 years and have just started my retirement program, trying to work only two days a week, hoping to find more time for my hobby's.

For about 35 years I’ve been into photography, all types of subjects, I now use digital but, like most of us I started using film, developing and printing my own work, then in 1996 I changed my darkroom to a digital room and changed over fully to digital a few years later.

I was a member of the Basildon Photographic Society for about 30 years, unfortunately it closed a few years ago, however, before it closed I started a new group - The Basildon Photographic Meet-up Group, it’s an Internet based group but we meet several times a month, a mid-week meeting and often on a Sunday for a trip out somewhere. We also post our images to the site. I have also started another group ‘The Basildon Portrait and Studio Meet-up Group’.

My other hobby is producing books, following the production of ‘Eating Out With Charles Dickens’ which I produced with 2 of my friends I have produced about 8-9 books, most of them as one-off records of my photographs, I often set my self a project and produce a book of the results.

I’m now producing books in my own-right, I am currently working on ‘Dahlia’s of Hever Castle’ which I hope will be going into print very shortly and I have another book, still in the working stages and I hope to publish next year.
